Is nursing a good course to study?

Nursing is a good course to study in Nigeria and beyond. This is because nursing is much needed in developing the health care system of the country and the world at large.

Nurses are well paid and sought after in developed countries of the world for those who don’t wish to work here.

So what most students do is travel abroad upon graduation for greener pastures. This is because, in Nigeria, there are only a few hospitals that can pay nurses so well.

So, in general, nursing is a very good course to go all out for. After attending the nursing schools in Abia State, can you become a doctor?

Can a Nurse become a doctor?

Registered nurses can become medical doctors as long as they are ready to undergo the additional schooling, exams, and training involved.

There are so many nurses who have always had the dream of becoming medical doctors. But life happens, and things change, so they end up becoming nurses. So you see, there is no disadvantage in attending nursing schools in Abia State.

Can I become a nurse without going to university?

yes, you can. You will just need to attend other nursing institutions such as the aforementioned nursing schools in Abia State.

You can decide to further in a university for bigger opportunities and better degrees or decide to practice.

Do nursing schools require Jamb?

Before I go further, please note that there are there is a difference between studying Nursing at a university and attending a school of nursing(nursing schools in Abia State).

Simply put, a Degree in Nursing is offered in the university while Registered Nursing (RN) is offered in the school of nursing or college of nursing under the hospital management.

Also, while a Degree in Nursing is run for 5 years, Registered Nursing is run for 3 years in a school of nursing or school of midwifery.

What this means is that if you want to study nursing in the university for Degree Nursing (BSN), you will need to sit for JAMB examination and score the required cutoff mark of the university of your choice which is not obtainable in other nursing schools in Abia State.

But you don’t need JAMB for General Nursing which will award you the Registered Nursing title.

In Conclusion:

Nursing is a profession that is much needed. If you must go to a nursing school, you must be aware of the requirements so you can plan ahead and meet the requirements. Avoid going through individuals. Ensure to contact or go to the school direct. Good luck in your endeavour.

Leave a comment below, we are ready to assist you in any way we can.
