Does school of nursing require jamb?
The general answer is NO. You do not need Jamb to be accepted into a school of nursing.
Schools of nursing are independent of JAMB, hence, all schools of nursing in Nigeria are not included under the jurisdiction of Jamb.
Schools of nursing were, until recently, generally and solely under the jurisdiction of teaching hospitals that are equally under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
NMCN was the sole governing body that regulates all cadres of nurses and midwives in Nigeria.
Most recently, some schools of Nursing initiating the award of ND and HND in Nursing are now requesting prospective aspirants to obtain JAMB UTME if they pursue their ND/HND nursing courses.
This introduction and continual adoption of the award of ND/HND in nursing admissions into schools of Nursing will be under the administration of the JAMB and NMCN.
What is the jamb cut off mark for nursing?
For the 2021/2022 entry into the university, JAMB general cut off mark for Nursing / Nursing Science in the university is 160. What this means is that the minimum cut off mark to study Nursing / Nursing Science in any university is 160.
However, this is not a fixed cut off mark because some institutions have their Jamb cut off mark for nursing to be a little higher, therefor it is highly advised that you check the institution you plan to attend, to find out the cut-off mark for nursing that applies to them.

UI Direct Entry Requirements For Nursing Science
Below are the requirements for candidates that wish to gain admission into the University Of Ibadan through Direct Entry To Study Nursing Science.
- A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of two (2) sittings.
- Degree (First Class/Second Class Upper) in related fields.
- Direct entry candidates are required to purchase the UI Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) And UI Portal.
A minimum of Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND) and other Advanced Level Certificates. - Other qualifications acceptable to the Senate of the University, and being equivalent to (1) and (4) above. In addition to the above minimum admission requirements, candidates must also satisfy such Faculty/Departmental entry requirements.
School of Nursing (SON), Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomosho
